Electrolysis
Electrolysis is the only proven permanent method of hair removal. At Kiwi Beauty - Treatments & Training, the Sterex machine using the diathermy (SWD) method is used on clients wishing to eradicate that unwanted hair. The most popular areas are the face, jawline and neck. Body areas can be treated as well. This specialised treatment is carried out by Hayley and Sarah.

The white, grey and coarse blonde hairs that creep up on us during hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome (PCOS) and Menopause see an increase in the testosterone hormone which results in this unwanted facial hair. Waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams, dermaplaning and shaving is a short term solution but with no long term benefit. Laser Hair Removal works well on hairs with pigment in (brown and black) but is not effective on hairs without colour in them, which is why Electrolysis is the preferred method to treat these hairs. It is particularly popular as well as effective for those transitioning genders and wish to have that long term hair-free solution.
This is the quickest method to remove hairs as it uses coagulation, meaning the current can be kept at a low intensity making it less likely to damage the surrounding tissue. There is no way to determine how many treatments will be needed, however each treatment will need to be spaced out 6-8 weekly. If you are also having laser hair removal treatments on the same area for the darker hairs, you will need to have a two week break between both these treatments.

You will need a test patch carried out before treatments commence to determine the correct settings that can be used safely for your areas. Consultations are complimentary.

Costs for electrolysis treatments are split into 15 minute sessions which are as follows:

-
15 minutes - £15
-
30 minutes - £30
-
45 minutes - £45
-
60 minutes - £58

As you progress further into your treatment sessions and less hairs come through, your treatment time will decrease and you may only need 'tidy up' sessions every few months.
