Frequently Asked Questions
Browse through our most frequent enquiries covering treatments such as laser hair reduction, electrolysis, waxing, lash lifts, and skin lesion removal. If you cannot find what you are looking for, our friendly team is always here to assist.
Electrolysis
When you come in for your consultation, we can then see how much hair you have coming through and advise you of a treatment plan on how to best treat it for permanent hair removal results. We are unable to say how many sessions or how long it will take. Each hair has a hair growth cycle, and when you have your appointment we will treat as many hairs as possible in the timeframe to destroy the hair follicles. Electrolysis will treat any coloured hair - grey, white, dark and red.
Hydration is key - please keep super hydrated the day before and the day of your appointment to achieve the best results. This helps the hairs release more easily for us, and is more comfortable for you. Please do not remove the hairs from the follicle a home - it delays the electrolysis working properly. You can keep the hairs short by using a razor, dermaplane blade or trimming but the roots must remain intact for the electrolysis to be successful.
Successful results will require frequent appointments, and over time the time required to treat the hairs will reduce. If you find the process uncomfortable, applying a topical numbing cream beforehand can help ease this for you. Apply on the area to be treated and cover with a layer of clingfilm so it keeps the cream moist. We can remove this for you when you come in.
Do I need a patch test or consultation before my appointment?
Consultations are ideal if you are unsure about a treatment and would like to find out more information.
The following treatments will require a test patch to be carried out, at least 48 hours before your booked appointment. This cannot be done on the same day as your scheduled appointment.
- Laser Hair Reduction
- Lash Lift and Tint
- Tinting
- Henna Brows
- Brow Lamination
- Hybrid Brow Stain
- Pigmentation Removal
- Tattoo Removal
We will not accept a booking without the relevant test patch being conducted first in compliance with our insurance regulations, and also for the safety of you. If you've had the treatment before at another salon, this does not count as having one at our clinic.
If you have not been to us for 6 months or more, had medical changes, had health changes (pregnancy etc), we will need to retest patch you to ensure safety and prevent adverse reactions.
Laser Treatments
Please arrive with clean skin free of heavy makeup, self-tan, lotions, or perfumes on the treatment area. You must avoid active sun exposure, fake tanning or sunbeds for two weeks before the appointment and two weeks after. The laser will sensitise the skin which may cause a skin burn or blistering. If you have been on holiday recently and have an active tan (moreso than your usual skin colour), this needs to fade before having the laser treatment.
If you are having Laser Hair Reduction, please shave the night before your appointment as thoroughly as you can so the hairs are super short. This helps the laser energy penetrate to the roots. It is only effective on dark coloured hairs. If you have lighter coloured hairs, Electrolysis will be effective for treating this.
Waxing
Ideal hair growth for successful body waxing would be around 1cm of growth for best results of hair removal. Do not go out into direct sunlight within 48 hours of your waxing appointment to avoid skin sensitivity to UV exposure.
Please wear easy-to-move/loose pants if you are having a bikini wax so the area can breathe after the appointment. Avoid chlorinated pools, sauna rooms, steam rooms, gym workouts and tight clothing for the first 48 hours.
Who are my Therapists?
Hayley and Sarah are both qualified and experienced Beauty Therapists and have more than 40 years between them both. Every treatment they offer they are qualified and insured in. They keep up to date with annual treatment training and masterclasses to ensure the best results for you. We use professional-only ranges within the clinic and have a skincare range we retail that continues results for at-home use after your facials.
I am feeling nervous about my first visit. How can you help?
Feeling hesitant is completely normal, especially before clinical procedures. Hayley and Sarah encourage first-time visitors to book an initial consultation and friendly chat. We will listen to your concerns, explain the process step-by-step, and only proceed when you feel completely comfortable.
Do I need to pay a deposit when booking online?
Yes, all appointments require a 50% booking fee which is paid online at the time of booking. This reserves your dedicated time with our specialist. Deposits are securely credited towards your final treatment price on the day. This allows to allocate the time specificallly for you in our busy diary.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We kindly ask for adequate advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your visit. You are able to do this yourself on our booking app (BookApp) by logging in at least 48 hours before your scheduledd appointment. If you need to change/reschedule/cancel your appointment within 48 hours you may be charged 50% of the appointment cost if we are unable to fill it. If you do not turn up on the day 50% of the booked appointment cost will be charged.
Can I bring children to my appointment?
We want you to enjoy the time you've booked out for yourself, just by yourself. Our insurance does not allow children under 16 to attend appointments. Unless your child is having an appointment (waxing, ear piercing, skin lesion treatment), we are unable to cater for them attending. Our clinic rooms have hot wax, sharp objects and equipment not safe for children to be around. This time is reserved for you to relax :)
Can I get treatments when pregnant?
If you are over 12 weeks of pregnancy we can still safely carry out some treatments for you to enjoy. Pregnancy massage uses safe oils. We elimiate products in our facial range that aren't suited to pregnancy. The electrolysis method we use is safe to have while pregnant, after 12 weeks. Laser Hair Reduction is not recommended.
